So, I finally decided on the RF combo I want, Bessa R3A with a 40mm f/1.4 SC Nokton and a couple of extra things, upgrading from a Yashica Electro 35

The big question for me, is now where I should buy this? For me the obvious answer would be at CameraQuest - seems to me as the most trusted shop for these cameras, though, I wouldn't mind shopping closer to where I'm from (Denmark, Europe) - this leading me to my question:

Do you know any shop selling Bessas in Denmark or somewhere close?

Or is ordering from the US not that bad anyways? (mainly thinking about having to pay massive taxes)

Not a clue as to that side of the pond, but I can tell you that Stephen Gandy is a straight shoot that is treated me right for several years.

My first Bessa was a demo I got from PhotoVillage, the price was too good to pass up and Rich was great. From that point on, everything new has come from Stephen. Four different Bessas, two winders, several finders and number of lenses. I had both my (new to me) S2 and F2AS CLA/Fixed by him (and his team). I was not happy with the easy of focusing of one lens, I asked him to send it back, I got it back under warrentee perfect, as smooth as my 'cron!

I've been around photography for about 35 years and he is one of the very few sales people I would trust. There have been a few other, Ernie in Rochester, Ken H or Jim in NYC.

If you need to ship it overseas for service, not sure how much difference there is between RW and CameraQuest.

You will love the 40, it has become my main lens for my M mount kit (matched with a 15/4.5 and a 105/2.5). Pick up a winder for your Bessa, it allows you to hang the body from the side and is the best priced accessory you can find.

Be it Robert White, Stephen or Photovillage, let them know you saw it here (RFF). It helps this board exist.

I don't know anybody in Denmark, but "Fotopartner" in Hamburg is pretty close. I did buy there my R3A, 21, 40 and 90mm lenses. As you can see on their website they have nice, special-prized combos, like "R3A + 40mm + 90mm + M-adapter" for 1200 Euro. Actually I took this combo and bought the 21mm some months later. They claim that their products are demo-products (can you say that in English?) and _might_ have minor signs of use but they give you the regular warranty. Don't really know what to think of it, they sell so many cameras and lenses, where should so many demo-articels come from? And everything I bought from them was clearly never used, never taken out of their boxes... Just my two cents.

Hej mtscherning!

Jeg købte min Bessa R2A hos B&H i New York via visa over internettet, det er noget billigere at købe i USA pga. $ € kursen!

Just returning from a short vacation, and was very pleased to see all these answers

As far as I can lay it out right now, my choice is between Robert White in the UK, or Fotopartner in Germany - simply to have less risk of paying the taxes
