Which app do you use for that?

OK, so my wife's idea of saving money and getting a low coast P&S digital to take pictures of soon to be born puppies went south big time. :D

So my son and I have convinced her that her iPhone 5 would do a better job but the stock photo app doesn't respond quick enough.

So an Enquiring mind wants to know, which iOS app do you use for still capture?

Has anyone moved from an iPhone 5 to an SE? Wondering how much of a step up is the newer camera/processor are.

Thanks.

the iPhone SE is 3 generations ahead of the 5 and is quite responsive (we have one in the household)

the generations were 5--> 5S --> 6 --> 6s

the SE has the guts of the 6s

I've also noticed that as you upgrade from iOS major version to major version, the feature mix tends to improve but older phones can get bogged down. So all things said you will notice a huge improvement from the SE

iPhone 6 is much faster and the camera lens/sensor is way superior to the iPhone 5. If the SE is anything like the 6, then this would be good option, too. I don't really recommend an iPhone 5 for photos at this point.

I believe the se has the same camera as the 6s.
I never really found a 3rd party app that I liked. So I made my own, I probably can't post a link to it here because that would break the rules.
But if you'd like to try it I'd be happy to pm you a promo code so you can download it for free.

I'm still using an iPhone 4S (in defiance of Apple's planned obsolescence) and I find almost all third party apps at this point very slow and crashy—obviously, they are designed for the faster processors and greater RAM of the new phones. The stock camera app at least works most of the time without crashing. I expect you would find similar results on an iPhone 5. If you need better camera performance, I'd look at an iPhone SE, 6S, or 6S Plus.

Personally, I miss the simplicity and speed of the older iPhone camera app.

Ive takne lots of pictures with my iphone 5, 6, 6+, 6s+ and SE, my favourite was the 6s+

fast, snappy, huge screen and since 6s they went from 8mp to 12mp

overall though, i didnt see any major difference between the 6 and 6s in terms of IQ, just bigger resolution.

i use the native camera app as you can easily access it while screen is locked. then i edit pictures in VSCO
