Hello all.

I wonder how many of you Leica-experts and elica-lovers are happy with M8 and M9 - and who are not and are waiting for a M10...

FWIW, and out of courtesy, I'm waiting for the M10, so that I can pick a used (and probably babied) M9 for less than the M10 (which may have 25MP, video capabilities and remote control, live view and an espresso maker built-in). :)

Its the espresso maker that I don't want. I bought an M9 to get away from gadgets in cameras and the M10 is only likely to have more which will spoil it. For the reasons of basic simplicity the M9 will be the legend and for a hot coffee I'll keep to Canon or Nikon.

I'm waiting for the M72.

Seriously, you can wait forever. Life is for living, and the M9 is a great camera to live it with. Why wouldn't you wait for the M11 when the M10 comes out... then the M12... then...

Cheers,

R.

I'm also waiting for the M72.

Seems to me, you asking this question means you aren't too pleased with the m9. I'll PM my address details offline, happy to supply a destination for your gift :D

pff if you're going to wait for the M10 then I bet you're the kind of person that ends up buying nothing and is waiting forever..

...which isn't necessarily a bad thing if you're already happy or can get by with what you already have.

I will wait for the M10.2 when it comes out in 2016. It will have awesome high ISO, comparable to a 5D Mark I.

Oh, fun.

Oh, fun.

Sticking with the M0 until Leica finally agrees to make a digital M without a screen or buttons, no AE nor a light meter, no viewfinder, and definitely no shutter dial. These are all just distractions from photo-making in my brain. it's about the craft, after all. ;)

It is caused by our monkey genes. Always turning over the next stone because we are convinced there is a tastier grub under it.

I guess I'd be prefeclt fine with the M9.

I'll hold out for another 10 years and then buy one cheap, for the vintage look of the shots :D.

Until then, I'm back to enjoying film again.

I hated the M8 initially. I was only happy with it after the upgrades.

I haven't received my M9 yet. So all I know is from playing with one at the PDN expo. And it was pretty nice. The only bummers are that the ISO issue is still there. Just moved a stop up. But if 1250 is the new 640 I guess that's ok. The M9 is even slower to write & preview images than the M8. Which I didn't think was possible. And the body is still fat.

Resolve those issues and I'll lay down cash for an M10. I'll probably start budgeting for it next year. And if it isn't all I hope, the cash will go toward a Nikon.

I'm happy with the M8 because of Voigtlander. If Voigtlander didn't make cheap wide-angle lenses, I would be upset with the M8. I'm sure I would love the M9 even more.
