Hello Folks!

I`m looking into possibly buying this "combo" to work into my Retro 1950`s and 60`s PinUp Girl Styles, is there anyone here at RFF who`s using the Nokton f1.2/35 on the Panasonic G1 with the CQ M to 4/3 adapter???

Any problems using this lens on the G1? , who has advice etc.?

Please post some sample photos with people as the main subjects :D

Thank You!

Tom

PS:I`m also wondering if there`s also any AFFORDABLE 25mm cine lenses that are f1.2 or faster, are C mount adaptable to the G1 and that have a similar Bokeh to the Nokton f1.2/35 and don`t cost crazy money????.... (LIKE UNDER $500) any suggestions????

Used F1.4/35 on my G1.. worked fine.. except that fact, that those lens sux..

I guess that 1.2 should work too.. in fact, any M-mount lens should work without problems, unless they retract to chip when focusing.. and thats only few of them.

You can now buy adapter directly from Panasonic.. for Leica M and Leica R.

Maybe they even have compatibility somewhere listed..

35mm 1.2 works fine with ep-1, you may need to stop down one stop as f 1.2 is not very sharp. None of the cine lens will have the same bokeh effects as f1.2, they are totally different. I find them beautiful and unique, particularly swirl bokeh at max aperture. there are plenty of posts on cine lens on micro 4/3 on GetDPI forum, you may search there. I use wollensak 25mm cine raptar and 25mm cine velostigmat for as cheap as US$50, both have to stop down to f.2.8 to get the sharpness, but produced stunning colours.

Also have a look at this list for sensor coverage on micro 4/3

Anyone here currently using the G1/Nokton f1.2/35 combo???

I`m really interested in seeing some photos please :) ~ I want to see this issue with SMEARED corners etc. and see if there`s anyway to correct this etc.

Thanks!

Tom

Thanks for the link :)

Tom, I have the 1.2/35 and the GH1 - I just sold the G1. If you want I can take some shots for you tonight, but keep in mind the GH1 has bit better noise performance than the G1 so it isn't necessarily apples to apples.

Sounds good to me, I`m very curious.....also do you have any interesting 25mm cine lenses at all also to test?????

I`m looking for a 25mm C MOUNT lens with a really nice signature/ creamy bokeh and looks like a Sonnar-ish style and does`nt cost $500+ !!!!

Any ideas????

Tom

ps: Killer looking Alfa in you Avi :D *I`ll be shooting with my Leica Gear and the G1 at Sebring Historics in December....stay tuned!!!!!*

Sorry - I am not using any C-Mount lenses. But you may check on GetDPI in the 4/3s forum, a few people are into them. Also, here is a link to a spreadsheet with usable lenses - a lot of choice!

(The widest fastish lens I use is the 28 Ultron 1.9.)

I still need to get some test shots with the Nokton - maybe today.
