I just can't seem to keep on target. I'm planning to buy a Domke/Safrotto satchel. Then I walked into a camera store in Harvard Square and noticed a pair of olive Domke's up in storage. I've always wanted an olive Domke but they are had to find. I bought the olive F-2. There is an olive F-6 "little bit smaller" bag left there if anyone is interested. Okay, so now I have one more camera bag but not my satchel. Fortunately, my wife liked the olive bag and wanted it for herself. Whew - saved by the bell.

Ferranti-Dege or Hunts?

I think it was Hunts, as I was looking at the domke's a few weeks ago (ended up shelling out for a billingham hadley instead - it's my last camera bag, or so I hope).

Ferranti has some nice used gear occasionally. They had a Rollei a few weeks ago that I pondered, but was gone a few days later. The Ferranti folks aren't the most helpful, and I've noticed a few of them talk down to the customer. I end up using them to process my E-6 slides but when I want to talk gear/chemicals/process with people, I usually head over to Hunt's (right next to Tower Records). The people over there are really friendly and have no ego whatsoever.. Great people, but I've always wondered if they get enough business to support themselves.

If you are still in the Boston area, you might want to check out New England Photo in Arlington. Great prices on new Leica stuff, and very friendly people.

I just picked up a Domke F-3x. Main purpose is to have a "shooter's bag" to stuff my Hassy in. I added the large padded compartment for the F-4a, works great. What I like more about it though is using it with a small kit. I had my M6 with 28/1.9 attached, 50/2 Summi and flash (I never use the flash, but I have it) in it for the past week or so. It carries very well, has more than enough room for anything else I need to carry and does collapse and form around your body. Being bigger it is very easy to get in and out of too. The outside pockets are much bigger than on a satchel so they too are more useful. This will become my weekend bag while the 803 will be my weekday bag.

Paul, I didn't notice the name of the store. It has two rooms, one with merchandise and the other for developing and repair services. The saleswoman was not over-knowledgeable but pleasant.

Great bag rover. I had one for a couple of years and the only reason I sold it was that it held too much! You can get an unbelievable amount of 35mm RF gear into it.

Fighting the urge to take more will be a little of an issue, but again, I like it for just taking a little bit so that is a big plus.

similar for the m classic bag, holds lots of gear but collapses if i only put a small amount in it.
easier to work out of with only one camera and some lenses or like yesterday, i took 3 cameras with lenses attached and it was still easy to use.

on a side note- i have to say how scary it was using 3 cameras yesterday. scary in that i really liked it.
