Canon LTM Why can't my sales end like this!

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Occasionally, you have the right camera with the right picture with the right description and you wind up with a bidding frenzy that makes NO sense. But, you take the money any way :)

I once auctioned a Konica S3 and got $404 for it and then got $278 for a Konica S1.6. The prices were out of line, but the buyers were and still are happy.

That is a really good price for a QL17-GIII :D If it was one of the rare "Made in Japan" I could follow the decision to bid so much but here... Lucky seller. Never saw a silver Taiwan model going for this money.

I sold a BUTT UGLY - Engraved- Black Canonet QL17 that I picked up in a Antique Mall for $20 for over $200.

If it had been professionally CLA'd, I could see it. New seals... I paid $9 for a seal kit... made my own before that...

That seller looks legit, had a lot of transactions recently so I doubt the ID was stolen. I think he is good at replacing seals and writeing great Descriptions! Anybody remember the Twilight Zone Episode where Ed Wynn (?) cheats Death by selling him all sorts of Stuff?

NOW THIS IS FUNNY!!! THIS GUY IS GREAT!

And what does this seller do with his profit???

Another One!!

I always got a Premium for my Stuff on EBay because I tested it and posted Photo's taken with the camera (or lens) for sell. I have taken a few risks from "I can't see any reason why this camera will not work" type sellers. This guy is getting a premium because you know it is going to work and he offers a money back guarantee.

On the first auction, take a look at the bid history. Looks like two eBay noobs got into a bidding war. As a seller, I'd love these guys. As a buyer... not so much. :)

The seller is legit. I bought my QL from him. I meant the buyer may have been goofing around. The other bidder had zero feedback.

That auction looked funny with such a high starting bid, then
a bidder with 0 feedback bid it up about 6 times...odd..
Looks like he buys them right and sells them once CLA'd.
Nothing wrong with that. All of my rangefinder cameras
I find and rescue I sell cheap to the good folks here.

I am glad that people appreciate the Canonet and are willing to spend this kind of money on it. These cameras will get used, not sit in a collection. So much for the demise of film.

Well my last bargain was the Rolleiflex I got, it went to Ebay,
my last Canonet and Konica Auto S2 went to live with Brian..
No other deals on the horizon...
Still looking locally for a Voigtlander Perkeo camera or two...

while you're out & about, mind keeping an eye open for a small, simple cds hand meter?
i don't mind the need for a battery in exchange for something easier to use in low light.
and i have to admit, you seem a wonder at finding stuff at good prices.
only if convenient...

For some reason, I rarely find CDS meters and if I do they
use the mercury cells...I did find a Sekonic Selinium style
that is accurate that I use. I recently saw another Pilot 2
cheap also...I assume you have been using the one I
sent you but need one for low light conditions now?
Rob

rob,
i now have 3 pilots.

but have been thinking, because it's winter and i spend waaaay more time indoors, that a meter for lower light might be better.

>my last Canonet and Konica Auto S2 went to live with Brian..

and I wish to add that I LOVE the S2!
