Will there ever appear a «Leica R6.4»?

After we all have seen that Cosina was already making very fine cameras long before they adopted the Voigtländer marque — to name but one: the Contax S2 —, I wonder when will the Leica guys rethink their decision to abandon their basically mechanical 35mm film SLRs?

I would actually wish that they eventually build a «Leica R6.4», dot 4 meaning that a 1/4000th shutter speed wouldn't be all that bad, and: let the camera have a *true* MIRROR LOCK UP this time, please…

The new model has the mirror always out of the way!

Of course it isn't mechanical nor does it take film, but it make your R lenses usable.

In other words, they will never make an R6.4.
