I just learned this term "exhibit" which I think means its taken out of the box and put in a display case. I am not sure if it is also mounted on a camera for the customer to test.

my question is would you consider such a lens if given a discount of 50 Euro?

thanks

These lenses are referred to as demo lenses and should be sold at a lower price. I have purchased such an item & without reservations.

As long as it's not a so-called "dummy", which means it is a store display case item that doesn't actually work. Alternatively I saw a "cut-away" on the auction site, which although very interesting has been quite useless on a camera ever since it parted with its other half.

But at a discount of 50 Euro?

For me to buy a demo unit the price difference would have to be significant. I wouldn't buy a demo unit of an expensive lens for a 50 Euro price reduction, I think the piece of mind and thrill of opening the box of a new lens would be worth 50.

Now if the lens was 100 Euro I would be all over the demo.

Thanks for all the replies

Actually I'm not sure if it's new or exhibit. I wasnt told. But the price is low and makes me suspect it could be an exhibit.

I know I should ask them but they can always say it's new and still send an exhibit :bang:

This is all my own suspiscion of course and I could be getting a new lens.
