Not a hint that this is real.

Many more close-up photos needed (is it even completely nickel, only the lens looks the deal), including scans from the report verifying its originality, a SERIAL NUMBER and entries from the Leitz book of deliveries.

The holder for the name plate seems original in that it is the same color paint, but anyone could do that, even me.

Relax, Johan. It's only the pre-announcement for an auction in September, to be held at a reputable (I understand) auctioneer in Cologne. I'm sure they are prepared for many skeptical questions and close inspections.

I'm actually surprised this hasn't been mentioned on RFF before. I hang out at retrography.com now and then and this has been on the home page for about a month now, I'd say.

I'll say this, if it is fake, the person knew enough to pick an old-fashioned typeface and vocabulary ("Weihnacht" not "Weihnachten" as we say now).
