I shot my XE-1 with a 50-90 zoom while my sighthounds were running the other day. I had no trouble with focus speed.
Because it was a Pen-F halfframe lens, I did it the old fashioned way, manually, and zone focusing. Remember, all the talk about this autofocus is 100 milliseconds faster than that autofocus would have been moot when Rangefinders were invented and used for decades. Neither did the first 4-5 generations of SLRs have autofocus. You can use any tool, if you just try.
