Hi, i´m tempted to buy a compact cmaera and was looking for the fuji x20...but couldn´t find a proper review...it´s usual that second versions donñt get that much attention...but perhaps you can give me some opinions on this newer version...
Some time ago i was able to handle the x10 and was very impressed...
so if you now about a review or better if you have an opinion bases on owning one it would be very helpful o know your experience on this!
Bye!

ive been anxiously awaiting its US release, but i think its only appearing in japan so far. take a look at the fuji x spot blog and/or the serious compact blog as they each have some info.
i had the x10 and really liked it a great deal. of course it wasnt nearly the camera the x100, which i also have, is, but its not supposed to be. i found the IQ to be better than any other compact ive used, like the nikon v1 or canon s95. my only 'issue' with it was that there was no exposure or focus info in the vf. both those issues are corrected in the x20. the sensor is also improved, which can only mean even better IQ than the already good x10. needless to say ive preordered!

The reviews are just starting. Here are a few:
http://www.pocket-lint.com/review/6197/fujifilm-x20-review
http://www.dpreview.com/previews/fujifilm-x20
http://www.digitalcamerainfo.com/content/Fujifilm-X20-First-Impressions-Review.htm
The owner's manual can be found here: http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/manuals/pdf/index/x/x20_manual_01.pdf
Sounds like an interesting camera. There are many significant changes, including an upgraded sensor. I ordered one today.

Wow, glowing reviews. Man, I was planning on upgrading my canon s90, but now I am really considering switching over to Fuji....

For what its worth, My last 5 or so blog posts all have X20 examples and informal observations instead of a longer review.

IMHO it is an excellent camera, within the limits of a sensor 16 times smaller than full frame. Find a way to get over that hurdle and you will love it too.

yes, it really is where you set your expectations isnt it? ive gotten mine and am happy with it--mostly.
for me, its i believe the only p&s with a vf. that is virtually dispositve for me, and why i had an x10. the addition of exposure and focus confirm info in the vf is a huge step forward from the x10. there are also a number of other very convenient software upgrades from the x10, like film bracketing, faster af, faster fps continuous shooting etc.
unfortunately the switch to a new sensor has not been without issue. while ive informally found you get about another stop stop and a half in useable iso (16-2400), the noise reduction algorithym stinks, and causes mushy off center results (center sharpness and resoultion are awesome). this can be mitigated by reducing noise reduction setting to -2 and keeping DR to 100%, but you shouldnt have to do that stuff with an 'improved' sensor.
having said that, i personally find the 'mushiness' no worse than the x10, while center resolution is much better. the mushiness just personally ticks me off, but not enough to hesitate in using it, just enought to be PO'd at fuji for not along care of this before release.
