Ray over at Serious Compacts posted this writeup today about his impressions about the xm1 and nex6.
- 16-50 kit zooms from each vendor
- 24 Zeiss on Nex vs 27 on xm1
From a street shooters perspective on the two cameras. He is on the loaner/eval program..so he gets various cameras to do blog posting..

Anyway an interesting read.

One of the most useless reviews I ever have read. It seems he took one walk with both cameras, hardly a thorough review. Even worse: he complains about the Nex's focus peaking, but doesn't seem to know that it has several sensitivity settings for focus peaking :bang:

Camera reviews in general are unhelpful, IME. Ultimately you've got to spend time with a camera and see if it works for your style of shooting and output requirements.

I have used nex focus peaking. It is not as great in my IMHO then a lot of people say it is. I have a nex 5n and used it a lot w/ legacy lenses. Have tried every combo.

Compared to the ricoh gxr implementation that everyone does not like as much as the nex, personally I find the ricoh much better for keepers shot using peaking.

My beef isn't that he is complaining about the focus peaking implementation on this Sony, but that he doesn't know that there are different settings. You on the other hand, have tried the different settings and decided you prefer the Ricoh implementation. I'm cool with that. :D
