I want to thank everyone who commented in this Xpan & Pano forum about their experience and satisfaction with the Xpan, especially Simon Larbalestier for his assistance with information about scanning with the Nikon 5000 and merging in CS3. It was helpful to my purchasing one.

Here is a shot early in the learing curve of pano format, developing my own film and scanning.

That is an interesting shot! I like how you have used the Pano format for a portrait style shot. This works pretty well I think!

I like the shot too Richard and glad i could be of some help! . I think the 45mm lens works very well in its pano format. I've been tempted by the 30mm lens but on a recent brief trip to Vietnam i found that most of the time i was using F4-5.6 with Neopan 400. To allow for shots in poorer light i took a second body loaded with Neopan 400 rated @1600 and swapped the lens over. I'd struggle with the 30mm in these situations when it has a practical workable aperture of F8/11.

Chris & Simon - Thanks to you both for your comments as I begin finding my way with the Xpan format. I've just discovered that there is an Xpan gallery and have posted another of my beginning shots.
