Just bought this set for 70 euro's.
When getting the camera in the mail, discovered that the camera HAS the P.O.D.

Think I over paid or do the accesories make up for the repairs I have to do on the camera?

Kit:
original manual
yashica electro 35 gs with P.O.D and original lens cap and lens hood
tele lens, wide angle lens and extra viewfinder in special seperate case
yashica filter ( have to research wich one it is)
original box
leather case made for the yashica
yashica tripod

The VF alone is a nice item and as long as the GS is sound (i.e. water damage etc) the POD service/repair is a good idea anyway. I would say you did OK.

The viewfinder provides views of 37.7mm and 58.4mm. I saw people selling it on eBay for like 30$ and higher.

The valuable part of this finder is, it can be used as a cheaper alternative of 35mm viewfinder, with Albada bright line, after all not everyone can afford a Leica SBLOO.

Just enjoy it.
The repairs are easy with all the great tutorials online.
These cameras deliver great images.
As mentoined the external finder is quite useful.
I use one on a fuji XA1 with the 27mm in face detection mode.
The "wide" lines approximate the 27mm fuji very well.
The auxilary lenses are much less useful.

I love the Electro line of cameras. Yashica gave us a series of great image makers.
Be careful you don't become addicted to collecting them all :p
If you asked me my favorite Electro I would have to say the It's the one you bought (The GS) although I use my GX more often .

Cheers!

The POD problem is not that hard to fix, I replace these on a regular basis without having to do more than take off the top cover. If you get the camera working, you will find that it is an incredible performer, and why these cameras in good shape are selling for much higher prices than they used to.
