I bought a 35CC on ebay that arrived in worse condition than anticipated aka "dead". After a quick vacation to Mark Hama, the 35CC is back and working great. He fixed the meter, shutter, cleaned and aligned the rangefinder and put in new seals. It ended up being a more expensive camera than I thought it would be but it is true that you get what you pay for. Now, I have a 35CC that is in CLA condition. Woo hoo. I have wanted one of these for a few years now.

My first roll is Tri-X 400 shot at EI250 and processed in HC-110 Dilution E for 6.5 minutes. It scanned really well but I think I would shoot it at EI200 with this developer. That said, the 35CC did a great job in the auto-exposure department, especially in the outdoor contrasty conditions. I used a red filter in all of the outdoor shots to help with the sky and bring the shutter speed into a usable range. (I set the meter at ISO 125 or so for the snow shots to get some more exposure and that worked well).

I recommend Mark Hama, he did a great job and quickly too. The rangefinder on this camera is now clearer than all of the others that I own, including a Leica CL. I'm so happy this one didn't end up in my parts box. It could have gone that way.

Very nice results ... it's a camera I've often thought of acquiring.

In the first two, I think I see some vignetting ... perhaps the filter ring? Or maybe that's just the normal sky "falloff" due to angle of the sun.

Nice shots. My CC is one of the few cameras that I got "AS IS" from the auction site that was in fully functional, nearly new condition. Others? Not so much. But if you really like the camera it's worth it to have it professionally CLA'd.

Does Mark Hama work on different types of RFs? I have a really great Konica
C35 I bought around 10 years ago used, but it really takes great pics. Everything still works with the exception of the shutter. It advances, meter works properly, the shutter clicks, but doesn't open. I'm thinking of sending it in for surgery, but I'm not sure who would or can do it. It may be cheaper to simply purchase another one in working condition. Greyhoundman no longer works on cameras, but I don't know if this is temporary or not. Where can I find Mark's email address? Here's a shot taken on my C35 in Ulan Ude, Siberia.

regarding the vignetting, I sensed the same thing on the outdoor images. I wonder if it is the filter because it is not as pronounced on the indoor image. It could be the sky though. I will take a closer look at the negatives. I can put up with a little vignetting though. The size of the camera makes it a lot more portable than the GS/GSN. I did take my GT out today but didn't have the chance to use it. I've been trying to finish off a roll for a month. Somehow, I was a lot more motivated to check out the 35CC.
