While hunting around a flea market on Saturday, I found one of each of these cameras. Both seemed in decent shape, and I ended up paying 3000 yen ($30) for the pair. Both cameras could use a good cleaning, and I plan to get into them when I get back home tomorrow.

two of them....for $30...I don't have any words....well, except YOU LUCKY DOG, CONGRATS! give good use to them and post your pictures.

I got the CC cleaned up and working today, I'll put a roll of film in tomorrow and see how well it works. I found a friend who wants the CCN (I don't need 2 of these cameras), I'm sure he'll have fun with it.

I also came across a black Electro GX, which seems to be the same size as the CC, but has meter lights on top. I don't know what the shop wants for it yet, they haven't put it on the shelf yet, but it looks like a neat camera.

I've got all three too and they are tops in every category! Get them overhauled, new foam seals installed and go out and shoot them.

Frontman, I wonder if this cameras are so easily available there. If some of your friends is interested in BIGmini, maybe we could talk on.

I got the CCN working today. I took apart the camera to clean the range/viewfinder, and to lubricate any gears and moving parts which I could find. I put in a new battery, but I got no light when pushing the battery check button. Cleaning the electrical contacts solved the problem, and the camera is now firing at all speeds. I put a roll of film in it a few minutes ago, and if the weather cooperates tomorrow, I'll run the Acros through it and develop it before I go to work, hopefully I'll be able to post some sample pictures tomorrow evening.

btgc, these cameras are common out here. I stopped by the junk shop on my way to buy a battery, and I found no less than 4 Yashica Electros (GL, GT, GX, and a simple "Electro 35"), a couple Canonets, and half a dozen Minolota Hi-matics. They ranged in price from $10 to $30.

I like Yashica's though when I think - CC is nice because of wider than normal FL RF lens (but then I prefer 28 or 25mm to 35mm), and GX is nice because of 40mm in package smaller than full sized Electro (but then I have small 35MC - and when I need large apertures, there are 1.4 lenses, both on RF and SLR).

So collecting part of my soul WOULD like CC[N] or at least GX, while rational part says, no, I have enough cameras already, let's go to take pictures. Sometimes not so easy to say "NO" to ever-wanting ego.

I got a few pics today, but not so many as I would have liked. I discovered that I had improperly installed one of the light seals, and many of my negatives were damaged. But the ones which did come out came out very well. I'm looking forward to running another roll of film through this camera over the weekend.

The pics are nothing special, but I love the lens's field-of-view, and the quality of the images I was able to get.
