My sister bought an Electro 35 at a yard sale a while back. The pad needed replacing, so we followed a set of brief instructions. The problem we are having is that when we went to loosen the pin so we could swing the transport lever out, the pin came right out (wasn't aware of how short the threads were) and the transport latch and its spring came out. :bang:
The issue here is reassembly - I have an idea of how it goes back together, but the spring is giving me grief - it won't stay in position (ie: the top part of the spring with the right angle hook on it won't stay in the notch on the latch, and remains loose). Am I right in assuming that it needs to be under tension while installing it? If so, how the heck to I go about doing so?
