I chanced upon this camera on that site and it arrived this week and is in pristine condition. Since I don't have a battery for it I ordered one from Radio Shack. My question is: I moved the advance lever to see if the shutter worked and it does seem to work but if I open the back and look through there I don't see the shutter close. Does it only work with a battery? Any thoughts? TIA.

Without a battery, the shutter should work at the default speed of 1/500. Your shutter may have sticky blades.
