Hello all,
My Yashica GSN seems to be acting up. Recently the film advance lever would get stuck a bit when I would go to advance the film. This generally cleared itself up, but, this past time, it got good and stuck. The film seems to have fully advanced but the lever won't return, although perhaps it's not quite fully advanced. The focusing ring also seems to have tightened up quite a bit.
Any tips on ways to fix this?
Thanks for your help!

I don't know how to fix this. Depending how much you paid for the camera, it might be less expensive to look for another one. I just bought two recently from RFF members, the second of which arrived today. I paid $60 for one and $50 for the other. If you really want to have yours repaired Mark Hama does an excellent job. A complete refurb runs around $95.

I thought about it and realized that it would be at least worth my efforts to carefully open up the top plate and have a look around. I did so and found that one of the lenses for the Over/Under lights on the top plate of the camera, both of which have fall off into the camera, had thoroughly wedged itself in the shutter advance mechanism. I carefully pried it out and the shutter advance zipped back into place. The focusing ring was back to normal and the shutter fires and advances perfectly!
