My GSN has been working flawlessly so far. Until recently the focusing ring started to feel "scratchy", as if metal is forced to run over metal....
Does anyone of you know how to get some lube in there??
Has it been described elsewhere already?
Thank you all in advance for links, advices and help...

This is a very difficult procedure, as you have to take the whole lens apart. If you like the way your camera works, apart from the focus ring, I would recommend a pro for this job.

I decided to give GSN to relative - and when we sat down to show her how to operate film camera, in very same moment focus ring started to stick intermittently, metal to metal feeling.
We can talk about cameras as having will and intellect, though I guess that GSN's are of lower build quality than earlier Electros.

Yeah, I still use film...
There is so much stuff that you would have to take apart that it is totally impractical to do so. Probably better to get another one...

...I got mine back to work by gently heating the lensbarrel with a hairdryer. Seems it reminded the lubricate what it is supposed to be there for. Not sure though, if it will last during winter time... so I better be quick taking pics

Gotfried, did your GSN had stiff focus ring or rotated fine, just intermittnetly having difficulties, accomnied by "scratchy" metal-to-metal feel?
In first case hairdryer is know to work, with second issue I think there's some particle got inside helicoid's threads.
