YASHICA MINISTER-D.....fantastic!

I recently dug out my old Minister D, put many rolls of film in my pocket and went out to give it a work out. This was the first time in many years that I had fired the Minister's shutter in anger.
What a great little camera. The ease of use and a very accurate built in lightmeter all centered around the Yashinon f2.8 lens yielded some fantastic results........good contrast and sharp.
The 1sec. to 1/4sec. speeds drag a bit and the RF is ever so slightly out in the vertical plane but none of this mattered. I used Fuji Acros 100 in ID-11 and could not have been happier.
I have heard it said that the Electros are the best RF your lunch money can buy, well the Minister D is the best camera for your pocket change!
I will hunt down a Lynx 5000 next as I hear they are in the same league as the Minister D.
Other RFF members thoughts on this great little camera would be most welcome.

I agree. The "D" stands for "Delightful"!
They are a nice, smooth operating camera. All manual, and a meter to boot. Just right.
I took these with my own Minister D about a month ago.

Im always impressed with yashica rangefinder images, nice shots.

Dean, that first photo really leaps of the screen. I`ve found with my 35 Electros, the more even the lighting the better the results. Have you tried Fuji Superia 400? I find that it gives almost 3D effect, especially with red & green subjects.

I just received one of these in a very sweet condition (for what the seller asked, I couldn't let it pass). If it wasn't so large I'd consider keeping it.

Thank you, Dfin. I use mostly B&W film, but run a roll of color now and then. The Superia 400 and Kodak's Gold 200 suit me in that case. Both nice films.
