Hi guys, I'm new to the forum so hello to all. I just bought myself a Yashica Minister ( first model ) and I'd be interested to hear people's opinions on it.
There seems to be a lot of info about Electros and the Minister II and Minister D, but not much about the original MInister.

I'll give you a bump here. I can't believe more people haven't jumped on this. There are a lot of Yashica rf fans here.

I am a fan of Yashicas myself, but of the old TL Super and the newer FX 103.

The Minister D was the first "serious" camera I bought with my own money. I still am amazed at the quality of the pictures I took with that thing, way back when. On my Flickr stream, I have 3 photos that had been taken with the Minister D. I recently bid on and won a replacement for that original. I have yet to take it out for a spin. I'm afraid it might not even be functional... I bought it as a reminder, but I may try her out.

I put together a set on Flickr of photos I had taken with my old D. http://www.flickr.com/photos/januaryman/sets/72157603900795156/

Have you shot anything with it? Post some pics! I've loved my Minister D (I recently posted a few shots I'm really pleased with to the gallery here) -- and even recently discovered that the meter still works fine! But I'm not familiar with the Minister. Is it the same lens? How do you like it?

Some Ministers-models seems to run on batteries and some on seliniumcells... which I think makes them quite different, at least in apperence?

I have my first rolls with the Minister D on the lab. Should get them tomorrow or friday, exciting :) So far I can only say I like the feel of it.

Not the original model, but I carry a Minister III. I love it. Sharp, contrasty, and NO batteries. The selinium meter still works fine. Only thing that might be better is a faster lens, like f1.4.
