Found this one in an antique mall with the original lens cap, meter, accessory shoe, instruction book, and ERC. And it works! It was tested with Kodak ProFoto XL 100, getting 39 exposures from the roll. The meter is off a stop, but that can possibly be adjusted out. Not bad for being at least fifty years old (manufactured 1962-64). Lens is clean, and the diaphragm is snappy. And I’m happy.

Thanks, Tom. I'm just trying to clear up the back-log of stuff that's been sitting around waiting a turn.

Hey, I have one of those too! I don't have the meter or the accessory shoe, but the shoe from the later J-7 seems identical. And I think the Penta J is better-constructed than the later J-3 and J-7, it is a very handsome camera, to my eyes, at least.

The (semi) Auto Yashinon 50/2 is one of my favorite lenses. I find it a better performer than the similarly-constructed Auto Takumar 55/2. This is probably my best shot from the Penta J and the Auto Yashinon 50/2:
