I have a Yashica GSN with the telephoto and wide-angle accessory lenses. I do not have the viewfinder that mounts in the hot shoe.

My question to anyone who has the viewfinder, is it useful? I see them on ebay once in a while and wonder if it's worth the cost.

Let me know your opinions.

The viewfinder is more useful and cost effective than the supplementary lenses.

I think the Yashica supplementary telephoto gives you something close to an effective 60mm focal length. However, the viewfinder can be found for as little as $5 and ic can be adapted with masks to be used on an LTM camera with a Jupiter-9 or Jupiter-12. It is much easier to use with eyeglasses than most accessory viewfinders.

The same applies to the other supplementary lens viewfinders like the Accura, Petr, Spiratone etc.

I have a Petri tele-wide finder I don't need if you are interested. PM me and maybe we can work a deal.

I have the acc. finder and both lenses. I have used the lenses once and then put them away due to the slow and cumbersome process involved in transfering info from the fixed lens to the tele or wide one. The viewfinder is pretty cool and would be of better use on an Fed or Zorki with a 35mm lens. If you can find one for under 10.00 it might be worth it. The frame lines are 37mm and 51mm, I think (once you figure in the extension factor).
