I haven't been able to find a fairly-priced Yashica T4 so am about to concede and buy a Yashica T2 under $100. Before I do that, I would really like to know what are the differences between the two cameras because I haven't been able to get much information on this.

Thanks!! And if you do have a Yashica T4 that you're willing to let go, I'll be happy to negotiate! Thanks in advance! 🙂

I don't know the T4 and got only a T2 that was faulty from the beginning. But I know very well the T1 and the T3 and T3super.
Why would you like to buy the T4? It lacks the "superscope" of the T3. Get the T3 (the T3super is the same, as a plus it allows shooting in a burst mode) or the T5 (=T4super in the USA) of which both are a bit pricey these days.
Or if you want cheap get the T1 or the not so much different T2. They all have nice lenses, but I must say I like the T3 most. Seems sharper and more contrasty to me than the one of the T1. On the other hand I had 3 T3 and all 3 died on me, so the electronics and the lens assembly are not the best. The T1 seems a lot better built. Now I have the 4th T3, let's see for how long.
The T1 also has the advantage that you manually set the ISO speed, so you can manipulate the automatic at some degree. (The T3 reads the DX code, you can manipulate the code, but you can't change that midroll. With the T1 you just push the ISO selector one stop higher or lower.)

I had a Yashica T4 for a while. Really good lens, but the utter lack of control drove me nuts. Later, I got a Ricoh GR-1: Great lens, much more control, but quite noisy in operation. Then it broke, and it's been on the DL for some time now. I was getting set to send it off to get repaired, when I saw this offered here for about the same amount (or less) than that reapir bill might've been:

I finally got then lens I want (supposedly not as high-spec as the T2, but I really like what I see, and damned good for a small zoom), the control I want (including a big one for me: programmable default flash setting), and quiet operation...not quite as stealthy as my old Konica Hexar autofocus (what is?), but close enough to be noteworthy.

For good, basic, no-frills snaps, the Yashica T4 is quite good.
