i recently aquired a yashica (kyocera) t4 zoom and i am having some problems. when i got it the lady told me it just needed a new battery. the low battery light was flashing so i assumed this was the problem. i went to the store and got a new battery and installed it. the light continued to blink and wouldnt stop. there was a roll of film in it so i hit the rewind button and now the camera will not stop rewinding. i took the battery out and put it back in and it continues to rewind. does anyone out there have any idea what might be causing this? is there a way to reset this camera? please let me know with any ideas. thank you.

Inside the camera, there's a little red thing called the schmendrick lever. You have to pull this lever four times to make the camera work.

OK, this is too funny as I have the exact same problem! I have a very lightly used T4 zoom that I like to take with me on my scooter rides. I tried changing the battery, still shows low battery and will not operate. I am going to try keeping it with no battery out for a day or so. Also, the old instructions say you must reset the date after a battery change or the level might not read properly. The problem is... I can't get to the date set with the camera in its current state.

I'll let you know if I find anything that fixes this condition and I'd appreciate it if you did the same.

Cheers,

Kent
