This is something I like to call a first step of a cult. A yashica cult...

Thanks for posting this. I have a GSN en route to me as we speak and now I know what to listen out for.

I made a video showing my Electro 35 and MG-1.
Both have new pads, made of vinyl from wall tile(bought at Home Depot for less than 2 dollars for a whole piece).
I've used wall tile as a source because it has the exact tickness of 2mm, very easy to work with and very tough, making it an perfect for the replacement. I suppose it's very durable too. Since I've found several types of Wall Tiles for sale and all have different colors and tickness, I picked the black one which matched the requirement(2mm)
BTW: I've used the "needle method" to replace the pad and it makes the task very easy, fast and fool-proof. It's a 40 minutes job on each camera.
Hope it helps.
Make sure you take a ruller with you, when you go buy the wall tile.

that's it alright! Most distinctive sound for "film advance/shutter release" in fixed lens RF's I know. Now do a video using the GSN at f16 with 100 ISO film in very low light and listen to the "kitty cat" sounds it makes!
