While waiting for my Fed 2 to arrive, I came across these two Yashicas for the sum of £17 for both ! £12 for the GT and £5 for the M5. Couldn't resist them at that price. When ah was a kid my uncles were Yashica/Fuji users, so a family tradition carried on.

Both cameras were advertised as "repair or spare; shutter not working". They were both filthy and the GT is pretty scratched and old-looking but a deep clean, new seals and batteries and they both work. The M5, especially is now looking immaculate and working fine. The GT has a number of problems (don't think it's been well looked after at all). Gonna try and fix it myself,; had it been mint, mebbe would have sent it for CLA etc. Ah'll see how it goes. Already got a link from a member for a repair PDF.

These are my first rangefinder cameras, think ah'll enjoy them!

If you have an M5 that working, congratulations to you. I tried, unsuccessfully, and gave an unrepairable body to the Yashica-Guy.

That's a clean-looking M5, and nice shots from both cameras. The lens on the GT looks like it has been opened. The name ring is from an early pre-G model; it doesn't say COLOR-Yashinon-DX. Maybe the filter ring and name ring were dented and damaged and replaced. It obviously doesn't make any difference to the IQ.
