Just got a new FED-2 and it seems to work extremly smooth.
Now I know the FED-2 doesn't follow the easy building year identification of other russian/ukrainian gear. At least with the sources I have access to I couldn't identify his age.
The serial of the camera is 0993361 and the lens is marked No.880006.
The camera is the mushroom wind knob type with self exposure and the lens is a FED Industar 26M.
Would be happy if anybody could find out the year the camera was built.

Hi there Eugen,
I'm by no means an expert but I just checked on this page:

The zero at the start of your serial number indicates it's a 1960 build. It looks like a new serial number system for the Fed-2 started in 1959 with the "C3" version. The first digit, or digits, being the year of manufacture from then on until they stopped making it in 1968.
It seems that the later Fed-2 "E" version, which was really an economy Fed-3 with the Fed-2 shutter, had a different number system again though.

Cheers.
