I just got a nice black Leica II. It is a 1932 #88362 camera with nickel knobs and matching Elmar and it's in pretty nice condition. There is a metal label of the Dutch Leica importer Capi, Nijmegen off-centered on the back of the camera. Apparently done in-factory, as it exactly replaces/fits into the vulcanite without any sign of damage or tears.
Also, the camera has a yellow OKARO filter in matching black rangefinder window. Anybody familiar with these fittings as standard items for early IIs?

Yes Huub, really standard, but the Capi-label only in the Netherlands. The yellow rangefinder glass originated from the separate Leitz rangefinders for the Leica I.

Huub,

did you pick this up right around the corner? 😀

I saw it for sale, it cleaned up real nice too!

Had to restrain myself from bidding for it, there's a wartime IIIc in my cabinet that already isn't used enough as it is, this one was too nice to play third violin...

Hi Johan,
Yes, Marktplaats. Indeed it was quite dirty, but I thought it looked pretty undamaged underneath all the gunk. I contacted the seller and had her clean it up a bit more for some close up photos. I got it for the highest price offered on Marktplaats but I think that was a bit too much. It is working fine though. The elmar is still pretty on the outside, but there's rather much haze. Scratchless glass though. I've been thinking about cleaning it myself if I can find a good repair manual.
