Would like to upgrade
I was still pissed about the Leica CL deal falling through because the seller was not showing the actual camera. The one he had was a dog 😡 .
I had a Dr's appointment today and on the way back I stopped at a wedding photographer friends studio. We got to talking cameras and I told him about the CL and he said Awwww you want a real Leica.
He then went to the back and came out with a gorgeous M4-2, made in canada, with an f2 35mm Summicron and hood. I was shocked 😱 because other than studio/wedding I had never known him to take any photos. He said he bought it new in 1979and had used it very little. He said he would sell it to me and I told him it was out of my league but he said I would be surprised. I must say that he is 72 and retiring this year.
Now, here is the big SURPRISE He sold the camera and lens to me for $500 Yes I said it right. He told me it deserved to be used and knew I would make good use of it. I was stunned as I knew he could get much more for it.
I am sitting here right now with it in my hand and still don't believe it. There is a God and a Santa Claus. :angel: I will take a Camera and coffee photo tomorrow and already have it loaded with some Fuji Neopan. The town Christmas parade is tomorrow night.
