Here we go again.. let's end the year by sharing which photo is your favourite of all the photos you've taken in 2018 - and why.
Please don't confuse this with 'your best photograph', although it might well be.. I think 'favourite' is the more interesting choice!
A Happy New Year to all!

No-brainer for me - it's got to be this one.
Used an old Pentax ME with a sigma 24 f/2.8 - film is ilford HP5+ developed in HC110.
Why? Pure luck. I saw the lady whilst passing outside the pastry shop and stood there and took a picture.

This one resonates with me more than others I took this year. Perhaps because I'm also aging and approaching the great threshold of Whatever Comes Next. Although my faith suggests the light and dark shown here will be reversed.
Taken with M6, C Biogon, and Tri-X at the Art Institute of Chicago, where the light is always promising.
As an aside, it was a little discouraging to look through this year's work and note how many of my pictures DON'T resonate in any personal way. Maybe there's a 2019 resolution there.

My first holiday with a Hasselblad. The same destination every year, walking past this tree two or four times a day and never noticing it till I was carrying a Hasselblad on a tripod. I took my inspiration from Michael Kenna. It turned out as I had hoped it might.

This is my favorite of the year. Mostly because it was a return to using rangefinders. And it is my first try at using pyrocat HD.

Thank you for this interesting thread, Lynn. Happy New Year to all RFF members.
The first thought that came to mind as what I find most interesting to me was the sequence of snapshots on top of the Milan Dome. It reminded me of a Harry Potter movie.
Here, I used my iPhone.

Probably this shot. A local actor at a historical reenactment. I asked her if I could take her pic, and she obliged. I love her smile. Plus I love that I took this pic with my $15.00 Yashica Mat 124G I found on Craigslist.

Funny, until now only B+W pictures in this thread.
Clearly this is my best one from this year.

I choose this one as I really like how the different elements interact with each other.

I'm not sure that it's my 'best' shot from 2018, but it's certainly one of my favourites.
My Uncle Sam, 87 years-old and still a rascal (and his wife - my aunt - is in the background). He was just coming off having both knees replaced, and it definitely gave him a new lease on life. I wanted to get a good shot of him, as I don't think I've ever taken his picture (or if I had, it was a long time ago and likely wasn't a very good one). I just got a Visoflex III and the 65/3.5 Elmar lens and was trying it on my Leica M-D, so it was also an opportunity to 'test' out this combination. Uncle Sam put up with me while I pointed the camera in his direction, and I think it worked out pretty well.

I didn't take any knockout photos this year, but I like this one. It has the tonality I like, it is clean and crisp (except for the white car), and it just looks like my town.

I have near six thousands exposures registered in 2018 by LR. Half digital, half film.
All of I have posted (two hundreds or so) are my favorites. Among them this one seems to be favorite.
It required some extra work in the darkroom (a.k.a bathroom).
And to me it shows what GTA where I stuck is. A mess without planing and mediocre outcome.

I'm gonna break the monochrome trend
I don't know if this is my best, but it's definitely a favorite of mine from 2018.
I think this was the very last frame on a roll of Svema Color 125 that I shot for Red Oktober. GerryM was helping me, and when we took this photo, everything just worked out perfectly. I couldn't really get my eye on the viewfinder, so I didn't really know if the buildings in the background were getting cut off or not.

My favourite of this year. I went up to London to check out a lens, so took my Leica M3 with 35mm Summaron. I didn't expect to do any photography on the Underground, but I saw this lady, thought it would be good to capture her as the train came in, but she was looking away. Figuring her head would turn to follow the progress of the train, I metered and focussed on her, and was rewarded with this. Her closed eyes expressed remoteness and a sense of being in her world, the tones of the TriX at box speed made it to me a timeless shot. Semi-stand developed in Rodinal 1:100 for one hour.

A favorite from this year, from a play by a local theatre group. I like the expressions and colors. The Panasonic GX8 with its electronic shutter option is perfect for live performances like this.

I think this one (click on it if you have a black background on RFF):
It is my favorite because I had photographed this spot numerous times and this is when I feel it came altogether in a way the other photos hadn't.
Santiago de Chile with Fujifilm X-Pro2 & 27mm 2.8.
