After watching the preview videos from Jared Polin and DP Review, it reinforced what I had envisioned the Z30 would be. If you took a Coolpix P7700, increased the sensor from a 1/1.7 to APS-C, added the Z mount, and a grip, that would be the very configuration I thought of. Well, it is minus the EVF I wanted. They are marketing it towards the vlogging types, so in actuality an EVF isn't needed as much as what a more stills centric camera does. That frees up the accessory shoe for a microphone or monitor unit or video light. It's just a kind of basic camera with a few more bells and whistles than normal to get you into the system, or if you want a video unit to go with your stills camera. Which has video capability. So, it is somewhat redundant. Though it sounds like the video specs are slightly better than the Z50 or Zfc. And you get that Zfc fully articulated screen instead of the flip down one on the Z50. Just like on the P7700!
I don't need a video camera, so I'll do with what I have on the Z50 and Z5. I just do quick little clips to document something anyway. But it's a good-looking set-up for someone just starting out doing videos. Maybe it would come in handy for the camera repair shoots I used to do so I could have one camera set to do only video, and the other for macro stills. But I'm not planning on doing anymore repairs. The last time I did my hands hurt for two days afterwards. Getting old sucks. Getting old while the whole world is changing sucks too, as you likely won't be around when it all settles down into normality. Or when Nikon finally fills in all the gaps in their lens line-up. Seven months from the day they released the DX 18-140mm they finally have the stinking hood in stock.
Well, I'll probably never own an electric car either unless I happen to survive to 85. Or I hit the Lottery soon.

The vlogging-friendly trope I gather is more like marketing - every entry level cameras today seem to advertise so. Otherwise why buy one nowadays?
A difference to the P7700 that caught my eye is how the dial lacks the Effects and Scene nonsense. A welcomed change that also reflects how the scene has changed. Those who would use those gimmicks - are doing perfectly fine with their smartphones.
