Z50 experiments with adapted lenses

Just a couple of images pertaining to my first use of an adapter to be able to use LTM or M lenses on the Z line of cameras. Starting off with the FSU series because I want to see what kind of variability there is between certain lenses (I have three I-61's now and have to determine which one is best). First up though is a Jupiter-8 50/2 which performed as I expected, as it is the best FSU lens I currently own after the I-22. I can't say I'm happy with the Fotasy LM-N/Z adapter as it seems awfully tight when mounting anything to it. I'm going to look for alternatives before doing anymore testing.

I have been pleased with the fit and quality of the adapters from K&F Concept. Not sure if they offer one for the Z mount.

I got one of the Fotasy LM-N/Z adapters when the Nikon Z6 first came out a few years ago. I wanted a Novaflex one, but they were much more expensive and no one had any in stock. The Fotasy worked find with my Leica M lenses and my LTM lenses with Leica M adapters. Recently I purchased a Fotasy LTM-N/Z adapter and I've not been happy with it. Out of the box it wouldn't let my LTM lenses reach infinity on the Nikon Z6. Which is a problem when I am trying landscapes. So I'm not sure if their quality control has gone down hill in the last couple years. Novaflex also makes a LTM-N/Z adapter, and I'm confident from other Novaflex equipment I have used that it would be spot on.

That's my preferred brand but B&H doesn't carry them. I looked up their site and will order two adapters, one for M and the other for LTM so I don't have to deal with the LTM/M rings anymore. I think the Fotasy is just a bit too tight as the LTM/M rings fit fine on the M4-P.

For my second adaptation I chose my W-NIKKOR·C 3.5cm 1:3.5 LTM. Using the Focus Peaking seems to favor well lit and contrasty subjects as sometimes it was hard to see the highlighting.

The camera tends to over expose when using adapted lenses, so these all needed some correction. I did the most work on "The Ride" by fixing the shadows in the foreground, and adding a touch of saturation to the image overall.

My oldest Nikkor meets my newest Nikon.

I enjoy adapting lenses to my Z6. For M42 lens I use. Kipon, for Leica R lenses a Kipon, and for Leica M lenses the Novoflex. They all work flawlessly. The most fun comes with the Carl Zeiss Jena lenses such as the 35mm Flektogon and the 58mm Biotar F2, and simple later model 50mm F2.8 Tessar - the Z6 makes them all really shine
