Zeiss 35/50 lens hood fits VC 40 f1.4

I guess this shouldn't come as a great surprise. The ZM 50 f2 has the same filter thread diameter as the VC 40 f1.4. I got the vented VC lens hood for the 40 (forget which one it was), but not so fond of the fact that it doesn't really lock in place. So it just kind of rattles around. After getting the ZM 50 f2 with the Zeiss 35/50 lens hood for it, since both lenses have the same filter diameter, thought I'd try the Zeiss lens hood on the 40. Sure enough, fits smoothly on there and locks in place just like it does on the ZM 50. Anyway... FYI.....

good to hear that.... i'm got the cv40 hood and am thinking of getting a planar....

Isn't it the other way round - the CV LH-5 hood fits the 35/50 Zeiss... probably no coincidence, since Cosina had reintroduced bayonet mounts for hoods with the Nokton 40/1.4. The guys from Oberkochen were certainly impressed by that when they began their cooperation with Cosina.
