Hello all,

What do I have to do to get 35mm frames on my R3a. I am planning to buy a 35mm Zeiss biogon , but I see my R3a only has 40 option. I am new to this so sorry if the question is old.

You could also make do without an external finder. The R3a has a viewfinder slightly wider than 40mm. You can use that as an approximation of the 35mm frame..

I've done what pvdhaar above suggests and it seems to work out fine. The entire VF on an R3A seems pretty close to 35mm. Alternatively, use and external finder or get an R2A instead.

Why the Zeiss Biogon? Why not just buy the CV 40/1.4 Nokton? Faster, more compact, cheaper, & it fits your frame lines. There aren't many situations where the lack of the 35 mm field of view will make a difference.
