When I turn the camera (ZI) verticle, the lens becomes harder to focus. There is more resistance when it's verticle. Horizontal is smooth as silk (ocasionaly it feels like its dragging). Anyone else have this issue? Any sugestions? Is this somhow normal? Thanks.

I had this with a Summilux. I haven't had it with any Zeiss lens. I could ask whether yours might have been dropped, but I've dropped mine three times and still it performs perfectly. My Zeiss 25 is my stiffest focus lens. I believe some users have required an early service of some Zeiss lenses for being short on lubrication. My old Summilux probably needed a service, having spent most of its focus rotation in the landscape orientation.

it's probably around 7 months old and never dropped or bumped. Stange. I can figure why it would matter in one orientation or the other.

Could it be that in one orientation it has a more difficult time pushing the helical than in the other? my mechanical understanding of these matters is primitive, but this occurred to me. Possibly ridiculous.

Mine focuses OK but it squeaks. Probably bad lube as well. I should do something about it but . . .
