Zeiss 50MM 1.4 ZF Only Two Left!

Does this lens have the same optical formula as the old 50/1.4 Planar in Contax/Yashica (AE or MM) mount?

They may not be identical but do look 95% alike. I wouldn't expect any differences in performance:

anabasis... I don't think anyone would mind some samples from that beauty

I know I would love to see what it can do or at least what you can do with it :)

Email sent! I hope there's one left!

This is a fine lens, very smooth to use. From the little I 've seen so far, there is more than just a family resemblance with its rangefinder sibling. Here are a couple of examples from the first roll I shot with it:

And here's a test shot that displays some of the strengths of the lens (the photo itself is not of any particular merit - although I 'm quite fond of the chair).

telenous : nice pictures! from my experiance owning ZF 50mm and ZM 50, I can clearly state ZM at f/2 is absolutly amazing, also bokeh at ZM is hyper fantastic hyper smooth and tidy! I can not say same about ZF, also it is a sharp lens but not as sharp as ZM, but again I might be comparing apple with tomato :)
I have a question also! what film did you use for those beauty tones? how did you develope? and how did you scan them? (am I asking alot? :D )

Man, I wanted one of these more than any other lens I've seen this year...except for a Canon 50/1.2 for my Canon P. I really would buy a new Nikon FE for one of these if I could actually afford either. Car...gotta think car...

Thank you Nachkebia. I agree with your assessment. I had for about four months the Planar ZM and I used it extensively, although not side-by-side with the ZF. Both the ZM and ZF have a nice bokeh (although, IMO, not as nice and smooth as the Summicron or Summilux), the ZM perhaps slightly better than the ZF, although the ZF doesn't dissapoint either (I 'm talking about my experience with it, not the examples I 've seen on the web where the ZF does show harsh bokeh). In terms of sharpness I 'd call it a draw. Both lenses handle fantastically, the focus ring is really very smooth, I have to say that I do prefer it, in terms of handling, from Nikkor lenses.

The film is Ilford Delta 100. I like it a lot too, and this is what I shoot when I need ISO100. I do not develop my film  although hanging around too much with you lot makes me think I should and will. I know my lab uses standard Ilford chemistry to develop its B&W, perhaps that works well with Delta 100 (I know it doesn't with TMax 400). Scanning is by the lab as well, they use a flatbed Epson 4490.

telenous : Thanks for the answer!  What you mean you don`t develope your own film? :D you should start! there are alot of reasons why :)
1 - control (play around)
2 - cost (well as if :D)
3 - learn (noone knows how long labs can keep bw developing)
4 - enjoy (I am already addicted to chemical smell :D)
