I absolutely love the Zeiss C Sonnar 50/1.5 on the Olympus E-P1, but it is long with the 2x factor and I would like something wider. The Zeiss 21/4.5 would provide close to a 40mm focal length, something I could be very happy with. I understand the C Biogon has a similar "look" to it.
Any experience with the C Biogon 21/4.5 on a m4/3 camera? TIA.

it will be great if you can live with f4.5 instead of f1.5
after personal testing (with G1) I found that the kit lens performs pretty damn good for wide end at reasonable speed (f3.5)

Thanks. The f4.5 would not be ideal but certainly usable. IME the Zeiss lens that I currently have is far sharper than the Olympus 17mm kit lens. The 14-42mm kit lens is a tad sharper than the 17mm, but still not up to the fine Zeiss glass. You get what you pay for in most cases.

i only tried the cosina voigtländer 4.0/21mm, and i was not so happy (light, but visible border smear, unexpected strong distortions). then i got my hands on the 4.0/25mm, and i am quite happy with it. works on the EP better than the 25mm biogon!
you should keep in mind that the panasonic 1.7/20mm is expected to be announced anytime now, and then there is still the olympus 4/3 pancake 2.8/25mm.
regards
