Zeiss G Planer 45/2.0 or Zeiss Planer 50/2.0 ZM

Is there any point to converting the Contax G 45 when the 50 is available? Are the two lenses of the same optical quality?

After hours searching the Internet, I came to the conclusion that the ZM lens was functionally better, but the Contax G was marginally better optically. Not enough pull to convert for me. On to the next decision.

The ZM is sharper than anyone needs in 35mm. Whether or not the 45 is sharper is a moot point when the 50 does everything anyone could ask from a 50 f2 and at a third the price of the summicron.
