Hi everyone,

I've been lurking this awesome forum for some time now, and decided to finally join up.

I've been saving up for a Zeiss Ikon for ages, and I'm finally ready to order one. The problem is that the camera seems to be out of stock at all the retailers I've checked out. I have an order on Adorama, but there is no indication when (if ever) it's going to ship.

Any idea on where I can get this camera now? I'm looking for the bundle with the 35mm f/2 Biogon.

Thanks

As an aside I was looking at the Ikon on line in Oz the other day and the body goes for close to two and a half grand over here! 😱

Thanks for the responses. I should have mentioned that I live the US (California to be more specific). I did check out popflash, and they have the exact camera bundle I'm looking for, but alas they are also based in CA. This means I'd have to pay an extra $200 in sales taxes. I know that sounds cheap, but I would rather wait a week or two for it to be stocked at Adorama. I'll give Adorama a call on Monday, and if they can't give me a reasonable time-line for when I'll get the camera, I'll go with Popflash.

Thanks

A pity, IMHO, they are worth it. That's how good Popflash is, but, of course, each to their own.

Agreed... I've bought quite a lot of stuff from them, a small outfit that gives outstanding customer service. Just purchased a camera from them Friday, awaiting shipping. Of course I don't have to pay CA sales taxes, being out of state. 😉

I've ordered stuff from Popflash before. They have an excellent selection of Artisan & Artist straps and bags that nowhere else has. I would order from them were it not for the sales tax. I mean saving $200 and using that money for film and processing is pretty significant for a broke dude like me.

I know what you mean about the extra money. One good thing is that Popflash has an excellent reputation on the forum, which is nice. Plus, should you encounter a problem, it might be easier to deal with a vendor in-state rather than one across the country.

In any case, best of luck in your purchase.

I've bought plenty from B&H and Adorama, and they are reputable operations, as well.

I recently got my silver ZM used off of eBay for 900$ in near perfect condition (some minor signs of wear), so I'd keep an eye on there as well! It's my first propper rangefinder so I can't compare it to any other, but damn if I'm happy with my choice (except from small focusing issues in extremely bright light conditions). Happy hunting!
