Quick question about the repair and service network of the ZI in the UK or Europe: where do you send the camera for repair if there's a problem with it? Is it Oberkochen and then over to Cosina, Japan? If yes, what is the wait time like usually?

Thanks for any input in advance.

There should be authorized servicemen in the U.K:, there's one even in Milan...

Yeah, that's it. But I can't find any info about the UK other than what Zeiss published on their website, which is not much (apparently they are setting up a network and 'check back later for updates'). I 'll email Zeiss but thought of asking here first.

BTW I am not asking specifically for service/repairs under warranty.

Isnt it Robert White that sells them. They should probably know?

A year ago (13'th Nov. 2006) the situation was this according to Jon from Robert White when I asked it by e-mail:
---
"At the moment we send all Zeiss repairs to Germany and all Voigtlander repairs to Japan. There is not a UK repair agent at this time. Repairs from Japan seem to take a number of weeks. We still ship to Japan because we have not found any UK repairers who have the necessary parts (for Bessa). Although a UK repairer should be quicker than sending to Japan it is not always the case. "
---

But now the situation might be entirely different.

Erik, Jari, thanks very much for your replies. I will call Robert White some time next week to check for any recent developments in the Zeiss repair/service network in the UK and will update the thread if something like that comes up.

Thanks again.
