I was given this camera by a friend and it seems to be in great shape, but the vertical alignment of the rf is off. Is there somewhere a how-to to adjust it? I guess the top has to come off? Btw, it's un uncoupled rangefinder.
Thanks,
Stefan.

Vertical RF realignment on both CRF and non-coupled RF is a typical issue with easy solution.
I have not opened a 524/2 so I cannot guide you on how to do it. Usually there are a few screws, maybe inside the spool chambers, also the top wheels may be acting as screws.
Once the chromed cover is removed, the rangefinder housing should be seen. Most folders have a hole in the cover of this housing, which is precisely to adjust vertical alignment. One screw keeps the mirror in position, so you must adjust the screw to lock the mirror in the correct position with the correct alignment.
