Thanks, Fanman. I'm still trying to figure this lens out even after shooting several rolls with it. That last link shows some interesting photos. Funky background in some, but I think he's trying to show the way you can manipulate depth of field with it & how the focus works.

I'm not surprised -- my C/Y 85 and Contax T2 Sonnars (or rather Ernostars) are like that too.
The so-called "Sonnar look" (and I'm not sure if it actually exists) is vastly overrated, even when the subject is in focus.
