Sorry, i'm really new to FSU cameras and, if i'm missing something really obvious, please feel free to have a chuckle.....but....😕

can someone please explain the markings and functions of the various positions that the shutter release collar can be moved to? I worked out where the rewind position was, but what about the other possibilities?

Many thanks in advance 🙂

Thanks Zorkikat.

So the dot at the 2 o'clock position is simply the marker for indicating frame number?

My collar turns anti-clockwise to sit in that position - does this have no function?

Turn to "П" for rewinding and to "'Д" for advance modes respectively. When shutter dial is set to B, and the shutter button held down, turning the collar CW will hold the shutter open, a la T mode.

Actually, aren't you meant to turn the shutter release button CCW while holding it down, rather than the collar CW? Works on all Zorkis from 2 onwards and on my Kiev 4 but not on FEDs

The dot is the frame counter reference, as you say. The shutter release collar turns clockwise (and goes down) for rewind, anticlockwise for advance.

Thanks wolves. I've just had a play with my Zorki and the bulb lock is actually clockwise, as Zorkikat said, but having said that, it also locks anti-clockwise if you turn it just a bit! I am absolutely fascinated by it, though - it seems to be tough as old boots and really delicate both at the same time. I can't wait to get a spool (didn't come with one) and start having fun with this.

Both of mine lock anti-clockwise - press the button (not turning the collar) and it turns about 90 degrees anticlockwise. This agrees with the manual too. Are you sure? I'm fascinated if it is! There certainly was variation in production but ALL of my Zorkis (other than the Z1, so that's 5 of them) lock and they all go anticlockwise. Ditto the two Zenit C that I have and for that matter, my Kiev 4 as well.

Anyone else find a clockwise locking button?
