Zorki 4K for £5.00

My dad has just bagged a Zorki 4K with Jupiter 8 for £5.00, I have not seen it yet, but he cannot get the shutter to fire, hes comming to christmas lunch tomorrow so I'll have a look then, even so if the body is a right off hes still picked up a Jupiter 8 for £5.00

Bang it on the floor. You would be suprised how often that works.

Great buy if it includes a lens

Banging on the floor is a good start ... sitting it by a radiator and getting it warm may help as well.

Drop kicking works well too..................... chuckle chuckle............... They do make nice paper weights too........... Seriously try using lighter fluid on all the moving parts, It works wonders at loosing grunged up parts, Good Luck, and Happy Holidays - Kievman

I'd love a cheap Zorki or FED in need of service like that. I need practice working on LTM cameras. I picked up a Canon one in need of work but some of the screws are just too tight (even with lots of chemical treatment) to get through. So much for learning to replace curtains through that one.

you press the shutter button and nothing happens, it winds on but when you press the syutter button the shutter does not trip, which is a pity beacuse it is mint cosmetically, still he said it was mine to keep and the lens too, which is also mint

It probably is, but worth checking, just in case it has been missed : Is the rewind collar around the shutter button up? If not, the shutter won't cock.

just tried a little too much force and something went ping and now it still does not work
