Any fixes to this? Some have said to leave the "never ready" case on, others say to gaffer tape it up. Is there a "clean" fix to this?

Here are some suggestions. There should be two black felt light seals. One is a vertical strip on the body next to the door hinge, beside the take-up spool. The other is immediately behind the catch on the door. Check that these are present. You could also try glueing some wool thread in the horizontal grooves on the body where the door fits when closed. I have used black knitting wool for this.

As fanshaw says, plus I'd check the door for warping. Although the wool trick he suggests may help, there should be no need for it since there's no seal there originally. You aren't the first to have this problem...

Anyone care to take a picture of their light seals?

Not easy to photograph them since they're black felt! One runs vertically up the opening end of the door, just behind the door-catch strip. The other runs in the corresponding position on the body at the hinge end. They're thins strips of felt, about 3mm wide

My 6 seems to be missing the one where the door latches to the body. The strip by the latch side looks good.
