I always thought that it was possible to make an adapter so that I could use my Olympus OM wides on an LTM body. I'd planned (for ages) to make this adapter, slowly collecting bits and pieces, a couple of trashed OM bodies here, some ltm extension tubes somewhere else but never got around to allocating some time in the workshop to do some roughshod Frankensteining.
One day here at RFF someone mentioned that there existed an OM to LTM adapter. Excited by the prospect of not having to waste a day in the workshop that could be spent taking photos, I searched and searched until I discovered that a Novoflex adapter did exist - the LEIOM.
I found one on thebay that was named poorly so noone else found it and I got it for a tiny fraction of the cost of a new one. I was so happy it was stupid.

After my test roll and the lab telling me; “that test roll - no good”.
I measured the adapter and of course it is 7mm too short (lens mount to film planedistance) it’s actually designed to be used with macro bellows and who knows what SLR camera.
I couldn’t let my bargain purchase end up being a waste of money so off to the workshop to make an adapter for the adaptor.
Having no idea as to how to cut an M39 thread on my lathe I had to make the adaptadaptor from the male end of one extension tube and the female end of another. Not alot of room in 7mm for two parts.
I did manage, the attached image doesn’t really tell you much apart from that.
It did end up being 0.05 to 0.1mm too long but I didn’t think I could get those parts back on the lathe and shave off the exact amount.

I’ve never used it with my Zorki 4, the thread title is a bit of a red herring, but it was the inspiration.
My Bessa R was the body I used it on.
The scale focussing on a RF body is frustrating to start with but not too bad.
Not having a 24mm viewfinder, that’s hard. The extent of the Bessa Viewfinder is reportedly the view of a 28mm lens. My method of approximation was to put the viewfinder up to my eye check the 28mm view looked good, then roll my head from side to side and I assumed the extra view would be close to 24mm. It was close, only got a few surprise elements at the edge of the frame.
The SLR lens being a bit bigger than its RF counterparts also meant that I never got any of my fingers in the way.

I've always thought that with an M body I'd love to have one of the adapters that Stephen sells, so as to use my Zuiko 21/2. The adapter is very expensive, though.
