Helier Classic - a closer look

It's a beautiful lens and I've wanted one, but I've yet to see any glowing reports about it, any rants about how awesome it is, nor seen any online shots that have impressed me much.

Well, I'm new to RFs and lack the credibility to write a proper rant about this lens, but I think it's fantastic. It's very sharp and I love the bokeh. It's built very well; it's much heavier than my 35PII lens. It's far better than my Nikon 50/1.8 f-mount lens.

There was another thread not too long ago where lots of the Heliar Classic users raved about it. Here's a link to the Flickr pool for photos (I'm "photophore"), and there are more in my photostream.

Size & weight comparision

Here is a size and wieght comparision with the Summitar 5cm F2.
The Heliar Classic is much heavier.

As for flare, & other qualities, I can't say much at this moment, need more testing.
Been busy for the past week.

Here's some preliminary samples here:

I am still trying to figure out whether I am better off with the Nokton 50/1.5 or Zeiss 50/2.

Or whether the Summitar 50/2 is already good enough for me.

Hi Nikola,

Just visited your flickr photos.

I've seen your photos before while searching thru flickr for Voigtlander images I believe. Nice work!
