Happy Birthday to Nikon ... just turned 90

Sure, they'll say. We'll bring a new S3, digital this time, and we'll price it a wee bit below the M8.

Now, let's see the crowds gathering...

It'd be nice, though... but would they use their own mount?

BTW, thanks for posting the information and happy birthday to Nikon! :)

I like dreaming too but it will be a Nikon D3 with 18mp full frame sensor. Click to 12mp to use DX lenses....
All for the normall Nikon price of $4995!

I wonder if the Canon people are sweating?

Kiu

And my oldest Nikon camera is only 57.

Happy Birthday to Nikon!

And yes, a Digital SP would be icing on the Cake. But the S3-2000 and SP-2005 is good enough for me!

The only way Canon can regain their Mojo is to bring out the Canon 7sz-TTL and multi-coated 50/0.95.

I had the Canon P out with the Nikkor 5cm F1.4. Nice Combo. And bought a Nikon S-Mount adapter for it.

They will... there were five Nikons for every Canon I saw around tourists' necks in my latest trips. I even saw people wielding a Nikon FM SLR! :)

And there were a hundred Canons for every Nikon I saw at the Green Bay Packers (USA Football) game last season. I even saw people wielding a 200mm f/1.8! :)

OK Erik,
I can tell you are asking for it:D
There were 100 Pros using Canons? Or are we talking about the point and shoots all the fans were carrying:rolleyes:

Soon all those Pros HAVE to wear vests with Canon logos...even if they are using Nikons:angel: :p

Good reason for Nikon fans to boycott the NFL.

And Football games are a great time to Snipe on Ebay anyway.

Uh-oh. Here we go again! Nikon versus Canon.
Beulah, hand me my flak jacket and helmet.
Give it a rest guys.
Shoot with what you like, and let the other guy do the same. And then just shut up about it.

You've been in a bad mood lately, where is your sense of adventure?
I really do think Nikon will put a big dent in the market with the new camera...
Time will tell.

Maybe I was slightly exaggerating the hundred, though it isn't by much.

5 to 1 doesn't seem terribly inappropriate. :D

Erik,
you are forgetting one little detail, just because they are grey it doesn't mean they are Canon anymore ;)

OK,OK the red trim gives them away...

Pentax, Tamron, and Mamiya (MF lenses) are all white, but in this case the lenses all have visible Canon characteristics, not the least of which is the red L line. ;)

You're preaching to the masses right now, Kiu, and no matter how much I respect you there ain't nothing to get me to pick up a non-RF Nikon. :p

Congrats Nikon!
Nikon´s been my friend since I sold my last Minolta SLR some 25 years ago. What I wanted to say, though, is this; I was about to order a D2Xs recently. I got a mail form my dealer saying they didn´t have the camera in stock, but wouldn´t I like to wait for the new camera? Perhaps out in August. So; I´m on the list, waiting. Gotta be semi-official, then ...
